Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag Review
I am all about mini bag these days! As I don't carry much around with me, I feel like they are the perfect fit for me right now. Everything I need is pretty much on my phone. So, as long as the Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag fit a phone, I am all in! Let's dive in and see what this Gucci mini bag has to offer:
Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag Look
Made in Italy, the Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag was actually inspired by archival designs. Associated with the iconic double ring and bar design elements of the house, you know from far away that this bag is a Gucci one! I love the gold-toned hardware associated with this brown leather strap.
In addition, the rectangular shape of the bag make it so practical as well as the magnetic flap closure. Even though I pretty much always leave my bag open, I hate when you have to figure out "how does this actually open?!". The point of a mini bag is to be simple and practical and I think this mini bag does a perfect job.

I personally love the vintage aspect of the Gucci GG canvas. The Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag actually comes in 7 different variation: GG supreme, brown leather, black leather, GG supreme and white, GG supreme blue and ivory, GG supreme canvas, GG supreme beige and black.
Last month, during my trip to Sydney I stopped by Gucci to check it out in real life. This is the model I have tried on. But it does not seem to appear on Gucci Australian website unfortunately. I found it on the French one called "GG supreme Bordeaux". It remains my favorite color!
Gucci Horsebit 1955 dimensions:
YES! It can fit a phone. But not all phones. The dimensions are pretty clear on Gucci's website: "This item can fit a cell phone up to W78mm x H162mm x D8mm". So watch out if you own a iPhone Max or even bigger model.
The dimensions of the Gucci Horsebit 1955 mini bag are: W11.5cm x H17cm x D4cm. It is the exact same than the Jumbo size version as we can see on the website.
According to me, the Jumbo size should actually be a little bit bigger but from I can see on their website it isn't the case, but the jumbo version cost about 30€ more than its normal version.
What fits in the Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag
Actually, a lot! First of all, your phone, then your cards holder but also a lip gloss. If your set of keys isn't massive, you can easily fit it in you house and car keys and even your airpods!
Customization options:
Additionally, you can custom the Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini Bag, how cute is this! Also, you can add your initials (up to 6 characters) on the inside strap of the bag. You have the choice between 7 different colors: gold, red, white, silver, green, blue and yellow. I always find that the personnalisation is really good for a gift. But, if you are buying this mini bag to resell it on second hand website after a little while, be careful with the customization process. This might drop the value of your bag as the new owner won't have its own initials on it! I would definitely get my bag customized if I know that I am going to keep it forever in my closet. To acquire this gorgeous little beauty, it will cost you AU$1,485. If you live in Europe, the cost of this mini bag is currently priced at 860€. On the french website the Jumbo version is priced at 890€, available in a beautiful caramel color as you can see right here.
In the US
For my American readers, the Mini bag is priced at $980 and the Jumbo version is priced at $1050. Lucky you, in the mini version you have even more color variation available than other countries, with a black denim version that I love!
How to wear it
As street style version
In my opinion, this bag is SO versatile. It can even be worn during the day for a street version as seen on Hey Chiu on Instagram. She looks gorgeous and wear it so well!

Necklace statement bag
I really love that look. Wearing the bag as a necklace give it another dimension. More than just a bag, it just complete your outfit and spice things up!
To wrap up this article, I definitely think that this is bag is a "go to" if you love mini bags. It gather all the statements codes from Gucci with the pattern, the brown leather and the gold-toned hardware. The price is also really reasonable for a mini bag.
Last but not least, something got the confuse here. This pochette have the exact same name than this Gucci Horsebit 1955 Mini bag on the left. I found it very unclear especially if you are looking for some reviews or inspiration! Although, on the french website, they make a clear difference in the naming by calling it: "Mini sac Gucci" and the other "Sac à épaule" literally meaning "shoulder bag". Lost in translation I guess!
I also like the proper bag but definitely think that the mini pochette is cutter and more versatile.
