Two new skate-inspired footwear designs from Lous Vuitton have surfaced, revealing high-tops and low-tops dubbed “High 8” and “LVSK8". A High Top Louis Vuitton Skateboarding Model Has Emerged!

As Virgil Abloh had a big Influence over Louis Vuitton. An exhibition is currently dedicated to him at the Fondation Louis Vuitton called "Coming of Age". So if you are currently planning a trip to Paris, make sure to check out this free exhibition!

As previously mentioned, both sneakers feature designs reminiscent of the skate shoes worn in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, with perhaps the more skate-like of the two being the LVSK8.
Here's everything I know so far about these sneakers release dates.

SK8TER sneaker

Similarities aside, the High 8 and LVSK8 are definitely as hot as Nike’s own skating models, and will likely be just as coveted. The high top, with leather uppers and leather soles, features Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram logo at its sides and “Vuitton” branding at its heels. Thick foam lines its tongue in a wave-like pattern, while floral motifs decorate the outsole. So far, palettes seem to range from black and yellow; blue and white; black, gray, and white; and white, gray, and red.

Pictured here in a blue, green, and a more refined cream colourway, the LVSK8 trainers feature a number of big and bold elements including thick laces, padded tongues, and heavily-layered uppers made from a combination of mesh and leather.

You also get a number of signature Louis Vuitton design touches such as 'LV54' branding across the heel which pays tribute to the year the company was founded, and the LV-style flower and motifs displayed on the laterals and midsole.

High 8 sneaker

On the other end of the spectrum, the High 8 offers more of a basketball-style look. IMO really looking alike the Nike Dunk High and some characteristics of the Air Jordan AJ6.

It appears each colourway is made from premium leather, with the sneakers signature detail being the wing-like heel that wraps around towards the eyestay.

Other details to note include the large padded tongue featuring a crippled aesthetic, the same LV motifs from the LVSK8 across the midsole, and the LV logo displayed right in the centre of the lateral.

Generally speaking though, Louis Vuitton footwear usually retails somewhere around $1,200, so these sneakers will almost certainly be a premium product.
